<Edit>The week ban is a little harsh just for saying loser don't you think? I would have thought at least 48 Hours would be reasonable.</Edit> ~>Jiskuha |

Digi, we were just joking around. =/
Trust me, I know joking around if I see it. If he was like.. "Yeah, compile this, you stupid loser." I would've found it offensive, but in the way he did it, I didn't find it offensive. =/ |

I prefer to do so myself, too, but I can see the merits in the idea. There is merit to this. It would take a lot of work, but would make it easier to to create various streams of games. The thing is, who will undertake this. It's a big project. Second, all who give in there code for this would have to be on a credit list for the library. But usually when a game is made, people look at the designer of the game. Third, what would the cost be for someone to use it? What if I use it and end up selling my game idea? Legal issues? It sounds good for those who don't want to spend the time to learn all the code, and make a quick game. On the other hand, all those out there that say "I'd rather code everything myself" - why are you using BYOND? (devil's advocate) |

It would be excellent for a base of learning to code though.
Lets say that Bob just joined byond, And that he checked a few games, and liked em, so he started coding his own game. He found a tutorial that covered a few basic things like defining vars, or what are procs.. Simple things like that. After a while, he knows how to do those things pretty good, but finds that he cant do anything else. He wants to make a system, and he pretty much knows the way, but there are missing links in his idea.. a few lines that he is not yet familiar with. So he loads up Chornicles and finds the exact elements he needs for his new system. Bob is happy, His players are happy. Everyones happy. =D |
Blah blah. I have a game to program!
