One of my character's ran a kitchen, but also had stores and rooms available for rent. Things were going nicely, for a time, but there was a problem with the key/lock system that granted someone access to all the rooms. My character was a nice guy on the outside, but being a fox, he had his scheming side as well. When it became apparent that someone had a master key to the entire burrow, he jumped at the opportunity and robbed all his shops and rooms blind. No one ever suspected him, because he seemed so nice. Really, though, he was a swindling thief. To his credit, he didn't intend to rip off all of his renters, it just so happened that an opportunity came along he couldn't resist.

Ugh! Don't even speak of the horrid results of the SSJ Fusion between Xooxer and myself. Why, its almost as terrible as the time when Lord Foomjack resulted from a typical game function gone wrong!

Yeah, HrH could really have benefitted from a maximum inventory capacity to prevent thieves from looting places blind. Since, you know, just about every character was a thief as long as no one knew about it. :P

But if we're going to discuss characters, I'm still a big fan of my uber warrior-rat who lived in a secret room he discovered in an old abandoned burrow. He had a few misadvantures during his stay at HrH, such as the time when he followed a "thief" into "his" burrow and knocked him out as he attempted to "rob" the occupant, only to be attacked by the occupant and promptly knocking him out too... Well, unsure what to do after that, he stole their keys, looted the storage room, and locked them both inside. Fun.

Although, after that, he started being followed around be so-called "bounty hunters" looking for a black-furred rat. My rat clearly had brown fur, as I always told them, and therefore couldn't have been responsible for that particular robbery.

In the end, most of his misadventures consisted of taking out "thieves" and looting them, although I really don't think that most of his victims were as thiefishly inclined as he thought they were... Oh well!

But he was a pretty uber rat. He knocked out two bounty hunters attacking him simultaniously, knocked the stockings off an obnoxious disarming bunny, and eventually saved up his loot and exchanged it for enough supplies to move far to the west and start a mining community. However, over-trusting his miners, he left the supplies open for them to use and returned later to find that his vast array of supplies had been emptied over night. Hrmm...

Not all my characters were thieves. I also played a very respectable badger who owned a mining burrow in the west near the oasis. He was mainly solitary, working on his craft, but occasionally would travel to the Hall for supplies or to barter his wares. Most of those expeditions resulted in all sorts of drama, which he occasionally liked to dabble in. Being a badger, he had a strong honor code, but wasn't very experienced in combat. He usually got his fur handed to him, but would rarely back down, even after being laid out repeatedly. He was big, generous, and none too bright. The perfect smith.

My final character never progressed very far. She was another fox, but one more inclined to magics. I admit, she was evil, but not for evil's sake. I intended for her to mingle with the merchants and bounty hunters, gaining their trust and respect by assisting in dealing with the bandits. While doing so, she was building her skills as a mage. Once sufficiently powerful, she was going to play some mind games with the bandits, getting in with their ilk and eventually gaining a ruling status among them. It was going to be tricky juggling both sides of her while she built up, and I'm sorry I wasn't able to see her through. It sure would have been interesting to see how far along her plan went. I was hoping she would one day bring some order to the Hall, by focusing the warring groups better, making raids less frequent, but more successful, and aiding the merchants in their businesses, thus creating more oppourtunity for her gangs to pilage. *sigh* all gone now... :.(

Ah, but we'd be Xoomer, not Fooxer. ;P And what do you mean horrid? Think of the icons we'd create, if our mutual lack of motivation didn't do us in. >.>

Can somebody give me a list of stats you had in HrH and what they were used for? I never got to play it..exept once but It was when it was first released and I didnt get into to it cuz I didnt get it...But I WISH I DID!!!!

Also When you built your Burrows how did yuu go about doing so? Were you limited to how much you could build? Did it take energy? Please, and if so I would prefer a short summary of how the game went along.

How do you expect to duplicate it if you didn't get it?

I don't think you understand just how complex a game like that was. It was a great game, and had a lot of hard systems, like weather, cold, heat sources, magic systems, a smithing, scrounging and climbing system, it was incredible.

This isn't a personal insult, but I've seen your work, and it's nowhere near the calibre of producing anything remotely resembing a blatant rehash of HrH, nonetheless a bastardized imitation with no foresight or guidance, not to mention original thought.

Can you even name two of the species in the game?

I never said I was dupilacting or making Hrh game in the first place. I asked how somebody would go about doing it. All I wasnted to know was how the game was played and things, on the acount that I didnt get a chance to play it.

You asked a hypothetical question in another post recently that hinted you were doing so.

Who uses hypothetical questions really intending them to be hypothetical?

I dont see how thats possible when I only have 1 or 2 projects out from a long time ago.

Look around on the forums, how you answer code help questions, how you post code that doesn't work. That's where I drew this from.

Yes, I've been there all day searching around..but I cant find any screenshots anywhere.

Who's to say there are any? Hedgerow Hall wasn't exactly the most visually appealing game in the universe.

No, not even remotely, and there is an edit button.

I would personally really love to see HRH hosted again, maybe some day, Mistress's cold black heart will unthaw and see, even though he wasn't that happy with her project, that it made alot of other people happy, and thats what really matters.

Yeah right.
