What do people think of squad based game sin general and would anyone play one on BYOND? I know there is all the trouble of having turns and all but what if say I found a way to overcome that? Would it interest people to play a squad based game against each other?

Tell me what you think of the genre and the idea of a BYOND based version.

I'd be nice if you added a story line into it, mabye multiple characters, stuff like that, and if you could help me, with something look on Developer How-To, I don't know if I can ask for help for one of my post from another but, eh, if you need any other suggestions I'll submit more later on.
Squad based combat for what type of game?

I'm thinking post apocolyptic type-ness...

Sounds quite like Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel.

Well really that comes down to perspective, I don't really see how combining 2 facets (a theme and a style) together can really automatically put a game down to being like another game but I do see the connection.

It's sorta like saying that a square block of cheese is the same as a square yellow box. Just because they are both yellow and square does not make them the same.

Sorry 'bout that little bit of a rant... But ah well, no ill will between developers.

So on to a proper point, does anyone have a favouritre genre or theme they would like to see put into a squad based format?

Hmmm... how about Thief-esque steampunk? =)

Actually, that could be pretty cool... it could be, like, Hammerites versus Mechanists.

(For those who haven't played the series, the Hammerites are a religious sect who believe in the Builder, a god who built (note "built", not "created") the world. Think fundamentalist stonemasons who use really large hammers to mercilessly smite unbelivers. The Mechanists are a Hammerite splinter group led by Karras [a power-hungry madman] who make mechanical gadgets - including freaky-looking steam-powered robots equipped with cannons. The Hammerites have denounced the Mechanists as heretics.)

You could play as a group of Hammerite soldiers infilitrating Mechanist bases, and have to use all the different abilities of the team to get close enough to all the guard robots to extinguish their boilers.

Okay, so it's pretty weird and it's a fan game, but I'd enjoy it. =P

Awesome idea! I may just have to look into that...
