Who thinks we should be able to play byond without having to download it into the comp? I have been many places i wanted to play byond but couldnt due to the fact i would have to download it. There should be a kind you can play on the site. But not entirely like the dowloadable kind with its drawbacks you know? >_> We should demand it. :o

Entirely impossible. The end.

Yes, you should. Dream Seeker is wrote in C++. It has to have the power of C++. No browser based language(Java and JavaScript) is capable of the power needed by BYOND. There are also issues with execution of the compiled code for the games. Most browsers refuse execution of this type because it poses a high security risk.
The easy fix for this is to just copy the BYOND installer onto a jumpdrive or CD and run it on the computer you can't download it to. |
This is complete BS. In theory, it is possible to do this if they compiled the DMB and then had some kind of tool to compile the DMB into a DreamSeeker with the DMB bytecode hardcoded into it. But it really isn't feasible, as you would still have to download/obtain the files for BYOND. The DLL files would have to be on the computer, and if you want to compile it you'd need to have some form of DLL or something so you can compile C++. And I'm not even getting started about the security of the BYOND suite by allowing normal users to compile the entire DreamSeeker sourcecode.

The good idea would be the jumpdrive so all you got to have is copy the byond folder into the drive and play it through that.

Not such a bad idea...at school I would COMPLETELY play BYOND if i could without installing it..yet my knowledge of coding still isn't great enough for me to know if it is possible or not.
