What RTS would anyone like to see made for byond?
|
I'd suggest Sid Meier's CivII, but it's not RTS. I will, however, suggest WarcraftII: Tides of Darkness.

Starcraft. Psst Fire emblem is a tbs not a rts
(it is possible because pixel movement is possible so starcraft not being on a grid is not a problem(and the buildings in it are on a grid so ha)) If i fell like it one of these days ill fix up my turn based engine and make it 50/50 (like those rpg games where you can attack every time your power bar or w/e recharges) |

That's not possible - I think you'd ruin Civ by making it real time - it's fun-ness is partly derived by the lack of a time limit on what you're doing. That's the reason no Civ game has been played via the internet as ar as I know. You could put a turn time limit on it, I guess, but that would severely hamper large empires and conniving strategy. If you were to make it single player, though, you could preserve the fun-ness - but playing against more intelligent opponents would be the point of making a BYOND version.

Well, the warcraft 2 sprites are unfindable, i would kill to have them to make a warcraft two MMO. if anyone finds them can you post a link? sorry to hijack thread.(not really)

They may not have been released... Is it possible to Print-Screen the map editor? you colud put all the ones you want on the screen, hit Print-screen, then paste into MS Paint. If not, look through the "program files" file for the game. That's all I can think of to help you find the sprites.

I haven't played CivIV, but if there is a Sid Meier's Civilization game that has played via the internet, I haven't heard about it yet. I really stopped playing them for a while after I hated CivIII. CivII was so much better, if lacking in graphics.

Hmm... I have the game and the Extra Campaigns expansion... (You know, the one with the WWI, Alexander the Great, Jihad, Alien [the best] and other missions) and I've never seen "playable via internet" in any documentation, on any packaging, or in any of the help screens. It must be a later expansion.

C&C classic + Guard Dogs and Sea units would be awesome. Also, you can do like they did for the 64 and give talking people a picture on a moniter instead of them really talking...
