Alright, recently I began work on a project I have called "Raiders" this will be my entry for the Iccusion Entertainment Gameing contest. The game revolves around a 15 x 15 map with objects such as water, grass, mountains and villages. Now, I have a temporary battle system in, but am wondering if there is a better way.

Current System:

A 6 sided dice is rolled, and depending on what number you roll you either give damage, take damage or miss.

This system also gives priority to the "Hero" mob the user controls. A users "Hero" is the leader of his troops, he gets attacked before the "Troops" if both are within a 1 tile radius.

I am looking for suggestions that may improve the qaulity of this system, or an overall redo on the battle system type.
