It has tooken me ages to think of a game that is fun and non -fangame based.
This is what i came up with...
Four Clans
Each clan has its own element.I need cool names for them so i need to think of that.
This is where the sword part comes in. Your ancestors die..they leave you a sword. Now depending on what clan your in that would decide your swords elemental power. So if i was in a fire clan. My sword can create fire and use it in battle. It can burn the enemy etc. Each element would have an affect.
There will be three stages for a sword to evolve..
The player and the sword are one...this is the side effect. If your sword is damaged so are you etc. If you loose in battle you loose money and your stats may decrease.
It sounds simple but i will think of ideas as i progress on this project. I am finishing my exams soon like in two days and i am going to have heaps of time :D.

No, a circle thingy like that would mean:
Fire dude runs from Water, keeps running, boring fight Even chances ftw. Each sword just gives different skils or so. |

Don't make it element based. Make it more natural, like maybe one sword is more geared towards buffing allies or another is geared towards speedy attacks.

You have a point. A circle would be real boring, to unoriginal. But I think the elements should stay. Maybe not as magical attacks either (fireball shots when you swing sword) but as representations. like water clan fighters have swift flowing attacks. Earth has strong steadiy attacks. Fire has fast recless attacks, ect.

It's an awsome and original idea, but you have to think about weapon varity. Buying better weapons is a key aspect in many games. But I understand that you want to keep this genral idea and I came up with something... what if the sword were able to morph and grow depending on what you do with it. For instance, if you specialize in fast attacks the sword morphs into a lighter, faster, sword. Or maybe you can specialize in strong attacks. Then it would morph into a strong and heavy sword. This would add a system in which players can end up very differenly and can specialize in something without losing the main aspect of the game. And if a player dosent want to specialize in only one thing, they can build up a all-out sword. You can do tons of stuff.
