Ok, so im basically doing a huge system upgrade for planet dragonball 2. Icons, and especially the programming. The main things I want to focus on are the battle system and skill system. I want the battle system to seem as real as possible, and at the same time be very original.
Battle system: This is how i want the battle system to work-
- Hit a key on the keyboard to open up a battle menu at any random time. The battle menu will be a small box on the bottum left of the screen. This battle menu will have choices which include- basic_Attack(your main punch, kick, ki), Attack1(an attack like galactic donut, or split form, mesenko) attack2( another semi-main attack), main attack(something like Kamehameha), And a special(spirit bomb, ect...). And from this battle menu you choose the attack you want to use, and choose the opponent you wish to execute the attack on. I havent yet decided on how the actual combat will be disgned but defenetly be action packed.
Skills: As you can tell from the battle menu, you wont be able to have every single attack in the game, thats just stupid. Instead you can have a maximum of 5 attacks, and you can forget them, and learn new ones if you get sick of them. This will prevent a cluster of moves, and promote original characterization. The skills will be very animated.
In the Dragonball z games you see currently all the battle systems are the same. And that is something I will defenetly try to avoid. I still have a lot of work to do unfortunetly. I just finished up the base. Now i have to do the hair >_>. Next comes reskinning, and finally the programming.

Hi there, im a fellow dbz fan and programmer, what i would do i make a arena and the only way to attack people is to challenge them and get teleported to a specified arena location for you and the enemy to fight in, (kinda like FinalFantasy but not take turns.. unless if you like it that way >_<)

there was a dbz game i remembered like that, where someone could build up ki and fly up in the air and you have to aim your attack where your enemy was but it was turn based..
i just cant remember the name of it. |
