So, I figured since everyone loves Martial Arts and seeing people using different fighting styles against each other and see comes out the victor. I decided to put different fighting styles some including weapons and whatnot. Tell me how you feel about the idea or any styles you might think it would be cool to see. Think Naruto though..

I went on Youtube and was watching. Katanas can cut bullets in half...

But a martial artist will never be able to react to a bullet being shot at them because bullets travel to fast. If they hit it at all, it's sheer luck.

Which would be pretty useful if not for the fact that those two half-bullets are still going to, you know, kill you.
Real life isn't anime. |

Though the katana does indeed cut a bullet in half you could never do it in real life. Mainly because the gun is fired at almost point blank range right at the swords blade. If you were holding a katana and someone shot at you with a gun your reaction time would be nowhere near fast enough to react to the shot and cut the bullet in half. Suppose the shooter was standing 50 meters away, on an average gun that would give you 0.06 of a second to react and cut the bullet in half. And to give you a rough idea of how fast that is, an average persons blink takes 0.3-0.4 of a second. In otherwords, you might be able to get in half of a blink before the bullet hits you. So good luck with trying to cut a bullet in half! (And those figures are from a low velocity gun, such as a handgun, a rifle could easily fire a bullet at twice that speed). But in reality. The reason why you could never cut a bullet in half with a sword is because swords are for girly men. REAL martial artists who have mastered burning manly passion don't need weapons. If someone tried shooting one with a gun they'd just flex their muscles in the shooters general direction, and the shooter would probably be instantly killed, and any bullets fired would be deflected, or at the least disintegrated. My advise it to put in "Burning MANLY Passion fighting style", which isn't measured by power level, charka or something like that, but by MANLINESS. |

It has its own units: norrises. One norris is roughly equal to five times the manliness any one person ever contained, so a person's manliness skill is always going to be a fraction of a norris.

A gun. All good and fine if you can see the fight coming. If someone was toe-to-toe with a decent martial artist when they drew the gun, I can't see a good outcome for them. ~Ease~ |

You are also forgetting to mention that a bullet is only a few inches long, so the odds of even being able to see the bullet is extremely rare. If the bullet was coming at you at about a speed of 20 miles an hour, I doubt you could even hit it because of its size. |

On a serious note, I have an old D20 manual called Ninjas and super spies. It actually has several martial arts styles and how they generally work it it, if you looking for more than cartoon realism. It ranges from those that use no weapons at all to those that specialize in various types of weapons. |
