I am making a game and i dont know if i should choose skill points or individual stat training. By skill points i mean like when you level up you get say 5 skill points that you can use to level up eather power speed or accurasy. But by individual stat training i mean like you can train on tread mills to up speed dummies to up power and targets to up accurasy. I dont know which one to choose what would be the best please help.
Well, definitely don't have your players sitting their running on a treadmill for half an hour. I personally like to get stats distributed based on input by me (What do you want to focus on,....,What stat don't you need) rather than giving me stat points. I'm way to lazy to distribute them myself, and always wind up having like 10 extra.

I also prefer stats/skills that increase as I use them. The main problem with being given points and distributing them yourself is that you could level up one skill while practicing another. The old problem of killing orcs in order to increase your int...
Both makes the player choose which stat to focus on.
Aside from the latter is more realistic, I don't see any difference at all.

Go for a less boring leveling/training system. Let the players enjoy the game.

That's almost exactly what I was going to say. Either way, your best bet is to have enemies give skill points, then those skill points could be used to get attacks. Training for hours is incredibly boring!

So should i do when you beat people and npcs you get exp and when you level up you get skill points?

You should decide. If you are going to base it off of opinion, then yes, I would go ahead and make a RPGish level and and skill points system.

u need a way to put both aspects of training into the game cept make it like twice as long to lvl an ability with the gym style training, since some ppl will just sit leave ther person on a treadmill will watching tv or w/e for hours so if its twice as long ppl might do it wen they bout to lvl or w/e
this way this will force them to fight monsters,
cause if u decide to do the treadmill punching bag whats the point of monsters
