Just brainstorm some out and have your team go through the list scratching off the bad ones.

Actually, Spacefarer isn't half bad as a title on its own. You could get something along similar lines with two words though, like a noun verber combo. For the noun, something space themed:
Space Space Star Planet Nebula Galaxy Expanse That could be preceded by an adjective like "Deep" or "Far" or something. The verb may depend more on the type of game. For exploration: Wanderer Seeker Explorer Mapper Trailblazer Pioneer Discoverer For something more along the lines of exciting adventures in established space: Adventurer Hopper Jumper Dasher Trader Entrepreneur Hero A lot depends on the feel of the game. Statistically, the easier, the more attractive.
Current proposal: Spacecorps. |

Suggestions- Farspace, Beyond, Worlds, and Farfarer. Simple, one word titles and semi common words make good titles.

Statistically, the easier, the more attractive. That's a pretty good title if the focus is military combat. Pretty much anything with "corps" is going to be associated with Marines. But like I said, a lot depends on the style of game. It's hard to refine suggestions at all without knowing that. Lummox JR |

If the Marines are known by "Marine Corps", shouldn't Spacecorps be "Space Corps"? http://www.google.com/ search?rlz=1C1CHMG_en-USUS292US303&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8& q=Marine+Corps It looks better, and makes more sense in my opinion. Not that it's any big deal. |

One word titles have a jarring effect, and so grab attention. Something typically needed by most video games, especially small video games where people are merely looking for a distraction. But consider a comical title, "Monty Python and the Flying Circus" for instance--obviously long names can be well-suited for comedy. But I would say that they can also have a story teller quality. "The Lord of the Rings" or "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button".
In the writing world longer names are considered literary, or artistic, but we should expect publishers to truncate them if they think that such an action will attract more attention. If a game is a single player rpg story telling masterpiece, then a long title would be well-suited to those looking for a good yarn to unwind. However, one should consider that any arcade-oriented game is better suited for brevity--something I lack in this post. |

Genre: Strategy.
Here's a lowdown of the game, a small spoiler: http://www.byond.com/developer/forum/?id=678034 Also, here's an employment competition: http://www.byond.com/members/PixelArt/forum?id=7471&view=1 Titling issue resolved. This may be closed. |
Not sure what you mean by title here. Do you mean a program in general? A title screen? A titlebar to a window?
