I am looking for some nice mini-games that would interest many of the people within my 'academy' game.
Of the ones I contemplate so far are Kickball, gambling, and possibly fishing as well.
Can you help me to come up with a few more, please?
I am hoping to have about 5-8 minigame options, each with nice prizes to be awarded to those who can beat those minigames.

Have were they enter a maze and there are holes around in this maze, If you hit a dead end a hole may appear behind you, And these holes will drop you deeper and deeper into the maze, And when you hit a certain depth you lose. Just a brainstorming idea.

Perhaps the following will be fun activities: dodgeball, bowling, gold, baseball, black jack (21), craps, scrabble, yahtzee, dominos, and dancing (something similar to ddr).
Though, in order to make some of these fun, you would want to use pixel movement. |

So this maze would be based on chance, since you don't know where the dead ends are. Pretty Much. |
Chance is fail in most games, at least make it slot machines so users know what they're getting into. People hate having to go through long winding mazes full of chance, and no skill.

If you are going to randomly generate a maze (lot's of games do Jeff) just use a very good algorithm to do it.

Seems like a nice idea, I like the concept of a maze in the game. Gives players something to do.
Thanks. |
If they are supposed to be in like a school of sorts, why would gambling even be allowed? What would you have..? Like a Casino in the middle of the freaking school? I'd go with easy stuff, dodge ball, tag, checkers, stuff like that.
The maze idea is awful, some looser on BYOND had a "trivia" game on BYOND for a little bit and all it ever was, was awful, go down the wrong way, die and loose mazes. No one likes those kinds of options. Why do you think games like Dragons Lair went out of style? |
If your idea of 'academy' is the same as mine, beer pong should be the primary mini-game.

Pachinko IS allowed in not only schools, but ice cream parlors, restruants, bathrooms, next to camera booths... the list goes on... I've only been to Japan twice and if you ever get the chance to play Pachinko, DON'T! It's addictive and extremly dangerous in the case of a short term trip to a foriegn country. |

Oh yeah, sure, you are always going to get some of those kids playing some sort of game in a hall, or behind a dumpster at school, I wasn't one of them. On the topic of not playing games, you just have to know your limit. We actually have a few video slot machines in town, in gas stations and at our local taco bell. You can win a few bucks on it, and I've played a few times, but that doesn't mean I am going to drop a whole check on one. Thats plain stupid. Edit: I just look on the Wiki to check out Pachinko. Who the hell gambles on this sort of thing? I've seen things like this in the arcade I used to work at by a different name, and I have played it. Nothing like seeing your money thrown away in a matter of seconds! At least games like Keyno take a little longer to play and get a little more enjoyment out of it. |
