This ticket covers the manufacturing process, namely the secondary sector (factories).
History of Manufacturing in Wargames:
Factories were early buildings required to produce units.
When pre-ww1 eras arrived, low-tech versions of the building allowed a scalable operation in which a WW1 factory building would produce more than an Ancient age Blacksmith.
Enrichment buildings also came under manufacturing, although in pre-2.0 it was acting as a primary sector resource building.
With the civic/war use slider, factory buildings became also used for money making, using metal to produce cash.
---
In 2.0 uranium manufacturing became a true secondary sector building, using metal mines for the raw materials the enrichment centres used this to create enriched materials.
The workshop building became a middle ground building between factory and the yet to be re-released blacksmith.
---
Future ideas:
Part of the resources ticket, consumables will likely be a manufacturing item, taking metal (and likely wood) to produce a traded resource in the form of trinkets.
There will be similar upgrades and specialisations on certain weapons and ships.
