No one read blogs anyway (I do recall a few instances from reading forum searches that someone would make a blog post for a discussion that was derailing the thread, and ask the others to talk about it there, though), unless you have a membership and it appears in the Community section.
Eh. We've given everyone a soapbox. Anyone who wants to lecture on a topic, whether they're qualified or not, can do so there. Whether they'll attract an audience is their own concern, but users who want more attention for their blogs can always purchase a membership to get it.

I think the point Lummox is making is that this is a discussion forum, not an opinion forum.

That's just it though - the blog is very close to uselessness when money has to be spent to make anything of it.
So basically the free BYOND blog is just like a blog you could make (and pay for) on your own website - useless because you aren't handed an audience on a platter.
I get it.

Some solid advice there that lots more people should take and not just in Design Philosophy either.
The point of this forum section is to discuss different ways of dealing with design problems etc. so be ready for criticism and debate.
With that said and my little chuckle at Kuraudo's maths, I thought that this post was much nicer than the first and more debatable, I still suggest you post these in your blog though and tag them with words like "design" and "tutorial" so people can find them when doing a search. (This will also get rid of some of the people flaming since they wont bother searching for something just to flame about, I hope...)
I too like complex games but I can see exactly what you mean about making things simple so that new players can join in relatively quickly. The problem lies in mixing these two things together though, complex elements and simplicity for new players can cause quite a large gap between players who have played longer and found out more and those who have just joined.
I look forward to your next post, if its on your blog send me a PM.
