that game that had "bullet time" (forget the name)

lol i think your talking about the "Max Payne" series. you had the bullet time where you slowed down time and became a badass.

anywho, on topic...
...one thing i think that kills most rpg's is the fact that they all have some kind of cheap way to level up. a lot of games have the puching bags or the train verb. it only detracks from the rest of the game that the creator worked hard on, that hardly anyone will ever see because their stuck in the training room smacking around a training dummy. Think of it like WoW, if all you had to do to get to 80 was sit in the town and hit a punching bag, would you really pay $15 a month to play...HELL NO!! the reason people keep playing is because its accually a challenge to level up. but not so much that you play for a week straight and youve only gotten to level 10. if more people would take my advice on this, i might accually play some of the rpg's out there.

Another thing that i love playing is RP games, almost all RP games do well, why? because you get to act like whoever you want. take Mitadake High for example, GREAT game, because you get to role play a student traped in a school with a killer in there as well. anyways enough blabing with me ^^

i agree with alot of your points. I'm currently working on a Rpg -type game. And i agree about the "stay in this place and train" aspect.. it really does kill the game.

And yes Max Payne was it.. the name eluded me! ;)

I also love RP games. I actually plan on making one when i finish this project. The premise of the game is that you can choose to be one of 4-5 types of demon hunters. You must build spiritual energy by ridding places of ghosts and demons. There are various ways to defeat the beasts you come across. For instance with ghosts that don't have a form or that are invisible, you must "bind" them to the physical realm in order to damage them or hit them with a "banish" spell that will dissolve them into the afterlife.

Based on the type you choose you will have a different background and skills.
