I am on the verge of creating an application called "Follow The Leader" which uses BYOND and allows users to follow other peoples navigations in Firefox. One person can navigate around on the web and 1-n other people can follow along and see all the navigations in their own browsers.

There is a substantial amount of work to make it usable and interesting.

I'm worried that all the work will be for nothing if there are too many problems with explicit material abuse. I can warn, and ban, and try to keep out underage folks but it seems problematic.

I have a few concerns.
1. Will BYOND shut it down regardless of problems due to the potential for problems.

2. Little Timmy lies about being 18 and follows someone to explicit material. His parents find out, and they try to take action against myself or BYOND. I'm not a lawyer and I don't understand the legal implications.

3. A leader can potentially navigate users into security exploits.

I was wondering if BYOND staff or other people had any suggestions and comments regarding the matter. I feel like there are a lot of red flags and that I should let go but at the same time, it's a really fun idea.

BYOND does not restrict content in applications created with their software. All that could happen would be your project's hub entry being hidden/deleted.

As for potential problems and abuse, better expect a lot of this. People won't blame themselves for mindlessly following somebody, but you (and maybe worse BYOND itself). There is a vast amount of people around this community who would be easy prey for the various people that want to abuse such a feature.

Ah, right. That makes sense.

Yup, yup.

So... a few follow up questions if it were removed (or never added to begin with) from the HUB.

Q. Will I still have access to BYOND member status in the application?

Q. Will everything act like normal in the pager? Will it show members as connected to my server?

Thanks. Please let me know if you have any thoughts or concerns about the project. I'm going to proceed with development.
