I don't really like high-res 2D games, but that's just me =/

Okay, I will agree with you here, can we stop referring to it as Pixel Art and just Digital Art? So we can finally end this completely off-topic "It's not really Pixel Art" Discussion? Let's go back to the methods. The method i used and showed in the earlier post was indeed done by pure Pixel Art, the larger image is blown up to allow you too see the tiny details. Using Gimp or something to smudge or edit the art on a larger-than-pixel scale is not Pixel Art, however I never said that it was. I simply think it's a simple way to get better graphics. BYOND Games shouldn't be about who can create the most "Authentic" Pixel Art, it should be about who can create the most appropriate art for their game. Some games would do fantastic with high-quality art done in Photoshop or something, but a game like NEStalgia would do perfect with even the simplest of graphics, just like it's doing right now.
