Ah, but assuming things about people that may not be true is half the fun of the game. Making assumptions about people's motives is pretty much the entire point, whether they're true or not. This also holds for the basic assumption most characters make in any mode: "There is a killer. They will kill again."
The fact that there's an actual "Kira case" for people to know about implies that at least some of the details would have entered the public consciousness. Which means yes, they probably do know the criminal point, whether or not the person behind Kira actually wants to follow that bit of their role description. If Kira wants to be a murderous creep on top of that, hey. There's nothing to say that Kira didn't murder people that didn't manage to make it into the public consciousness. They didn't exactly go public with the FBI murders in the manga, as I recall. And only the detective, the group behind the detective, and Eyes would know that Kira could kill in ways other than heart attacks, anyway. So there's a number of ways to make the "murderous Kira" archetype fit properly.
Least of which is, of course, saying, "Screw you guys, everything you know, my role description, and everyone else's role descriptions. I'm not actually the Kira from the Kira case." While I do have a certain amount of apprehension about suggesting it, as you said: no one sees your role description but you.
The Kira case itself, however, is an immutable, unchanging constant. People can RP not having heard about it all they want, but the Kira case is forever linked to the magical killing of criminals. While any one character might not be conscious of one of these three facts, to say that they can't know about any of them stifles the RP just a tad, due to my public knowledge point from before.

Over 180 comments most are arguments and complaints about bans/hosters. I think has a community for this game we should all try getting along better and make it work. It's getting annoying seeing people acting like butt holes over ridiculous things. Actually, we all act like "noobs" if anything.

Well I don't blame the community, since most of it has come from Pyrce High and even Mitadake High. Everyone has different views of this game, and I don't want to take their voice away. You are right though Audio Freak, we should be getting along with each other. The constant fighting isn't even going on in this forum, but as well in the game, and even on byond pager. It's almost like we are figuring out who is faster, "The Flash or Sonic" or who would win in a fight, "Batman or Superman". I think Misuterii should open up another view and become more sociable. Maybe film an average round of Misuterii High, and post it on YouTube. MetaFrosty and Kamuna could do behind the scenes of the coding and demonstrate unique features from the game to the public. Maybe even a livestream, where MetaFrosty can answer some questions the community has to ask. Maybe it seems like a lot, but it really isn't. Everyone should come together and try to build something not just for themself, and not just for the game. But for all of us. | |
You know, at the start of the development it was a beautiful community where people were friendly at first. Then people did start taking advantage of having more power on their server than the actual owner. That's where many people started to get all prissy. Tbh, I rather have a main server that is populated and friendly than one that is disrespectful and populated. I'd rather not join a server that is full of disrespect.

An official main server would make everything better. I mean, it's not like there's much of staff on this game. The Host is the one who is calling the shots from time to time, and when they promote an abusive mini-host, than it's all game. If there is an official main server than we'd need moderators to actually run it, that'd be the problem as I don't see much of that going around lately.

I think you're really overemphasizing how much arguing is going on. Ever since Mitadake, the idea that the community is beyond hope has been an idea perpetuated by a preconceived notion, I feel.
Anywhere you go, you're going to meet people you don't get along with. That's a fact of life and the existence of such people shouldn't ruin the enjoyment for you or for the community as a whole. The majority of players are nice people who are here to have fun with the game or socialize with everyone else. An official server probably would not solve anything. For one thing, getting people to join it in the first place would not be simple. I put my own server up when the player population was empty on all the servers and when people did start logging on, they went straight for the previously populated server again. Something that would make things a lot healthier would be if more people got an opportunity to host, but there's no way that can be enforced because if someone wants to host their server 24/7 then there's nothing stopping them. As for the rest, I don't know how to approach promoting the game. It doesn't really have a mass appeal, it's sort of a niche game after all. There's not really any behind the scenes to share as we're pretty upfront about what's going on. I'd be happy to do a Q&A if there was a demand for one, but the community is small enough that I can talk to anyone who wants to know something and so I don't see it being necessary. | |
Actually, no, I am seriously not exaggerating on how much arguing is going on. There are a lot. Game itself all the way through via pager. People get so disrespectful, you have no idea. The other day people were talking all kind of slap about unclarified rules that the host made, even though it is obviously implied to not do this or that. Saying the host was silly to even have anyone enforce them since they were "too hard" to understand. People saying it was a "bad server" because I yelled at someone saying they can't cyber here. Then of course people think it's because the rules says they can even though it doesn't exactly mean that at all. It's not even "clear" enough to state that.
I'm goin to explain the 20 minute arguement with everyone becuase they all were being drama queens. Pretty much after someone complained about me yelling at them, they wanted proof from a global rule that I linked them then they all were freaking out. Leading to saying "failed host" all because the rules weren't clear on #4. There's common sense in all games. If a mini-host tells you no, don't back talk and disrespect the host...just don't do it. No one ever does that. People HAS to jump in and cause drama everyday. I swear. I see it too much. Now I am not sure about today and yesterday (I had computer problems). But all I can say, it happens often. To sum this up. We're all like a bunch of teenage girls in a air-shut room fighting before even know eachother's name. (Family Guy reference. x3) I agree with you on that there are going to be those days where someone is not going to get along with them. Though, it does not make an excuse for them to act immature and childish. Even if they are like 13 years old...everyone has a common sense. Common Sense 2014. There's no need for "you're stupid"...You see what I am trying to say here? It's really foolish and old. There are a lot of nice people, yes Meta, I know that. Silly. But there are also a lot of mean and nasty people who think they can say what they want and complain when they get muted(using via pager), or they seriously trash talk about the person/minihost to their friends. I know what you mean, Audio. There's a shit ton of arguements going on MH everyday. About mispells, about skills, about macroing, about your username etc. And half of the arguements don't even have evidence to prove their point.

Or you could try acting in a calm and rational manner rather than freaking out when someone brings up a point of criticism, Audio. You're the only one starting arguments in the past months plus, when you're not even the one being criticized at the start of the arguments.

Anyways, even if it does say that, they shouldn't assume on that's how Kira wants to be because maybe Kira wants to be a murderous creep who will kill anyone for fun? Simply, role descriptions give a suggestion on how you should RP your role, but people would maybe RP it as "Oh, in this round I am going to kill everyone not just just criminals."
