Today marks my tenth year on BYOND! I've officially been on this site for almost half of my life now, including the entirety of my teenage years and a sliver of my adult life. I'm currently 21 going on 22 now, and probably would have never pursued being a programmer had I not discovered BYOND. So, thanks BYOND and the wonderful developers that make it happen, as well as the folks out there making games. =)!

Wow, quite a while there. About twice as long as me, heh. I was almost 17 or so when I joined, and I'm just past my 5 and a half year mark right now. It'll be 6 years in March.
I wouldn't of ever gotten into pixel art, programming, or game design in general if it weren't for BYOND, and I've heard of at least a few others who went into schooling for it because of BYOND, so I guess BYOND really has had a huge impact on several lives. | |
Congrats! I hope BYOND is still "here" for me to reach that point :P

I joined when I was 10. 7 years ago. There was an age restriction then. What about the other 3 years?

Well, I joined when the site looked like this:

In fact, I recall reading the ToS, but I don't think it was even required to check a box to certify my agreement with them (my memory may be wrong about that, though) The site's come a long way since then. | |
Wow... now it makes me feel old. 6 years for me, and I can same the same that LA has. I don't think I would be pursuing programming had I not come across BYOND. I've been demoted down to lurker status for now, though. Maybe I'll get the gumption to work on something before my Membership expires.
