Mapping Problem

When I place a Turf Object like a piece of a building down on the map it leaves a black square around the object can anyone help with this

You're "replacing" the turf under it instead of "inserting" it. Go into the map editor and then into the Options Menu and select "Click Behavior..."

Make sure that the option for "inserting" is checked.
