As some of you may know, Apple's flagship device(which is wonderful), the iPhone 5s, was released early this morning. And like every other die hard Apple fan, I waited on line, for hours, in the friggin' cold....

Only to not get my hands on the iPhone 5s. To hell with you, Apple, and your limited stock.

P.S. I ordered it online and I have to wait three weeks for it to be shipped.
lol, apple.
You know, generally, when you say "To hell with x!", it describes a sort of boycott.
In other words, Apple, still gets their money :)
Why would you wait on line for hours for the same phone with a finger scanner this time?

Because I'm a tech geek, and any smartphone that has a 64-bit processor, a touch sensor, and a fantastic camera, is worth throwing money at.

Forever sticking to my Lumias. If the new lumia-style Nokia tablet didn't run RT, I would be buying that when it comes out, but now I am sticking to saving up for the Surface Pro 2 256GB

I'll stick to my TracFone; as it does everything I actually need a phone for without the ridiculous price tag attached.
Sticking with my iPhone 4 with iOS 7.
I'm sticking with my iDonthaveacellphone 3. :)
I'm sticking to my HTC Inspire 4G because I got it free with a two-year contract, and I'm too poor and frugal to buy an expensive phone I'll only use for a year.

I'm a tech geek. I wouldn't wait in line to buy an inferior device. Especially not one that doesn't advertise the actual hardware specs of the device up front. Apple knows its customers are tech illiterate, and as such, doesn't proudly acknowledge its rancid 1GB internal RAM and the fact that 64bit ARM architecture is more than likely not yet actually demonstrably an improvement over 32bit ARM. They did this once already with the first 64 bit Apple Desktop computer, claiming faster speeds and instead delivering slower speeds due to severe need for optimization of the hardware.

I've got a Galaxy S4. My girlfriend has the HTC One.

Iphone 5s:

1GB RAM,
8 Megapixel camera,
1.7ghz dual core processor,
1 1080p/1 720p video recording
10hr expected battery life (talk time)
640 x 1136 pixels, 4.0 inches (~326 ppi pixel density)

Compare that to the Galaxy S4:

13 Megapixel camera,
Quad Core 1.9ghz processor,
dual 1080p video recording,
2GB onboard RAM
17hr expected battery life (talk time)
1080 x 1920 pixels, 5.0 inches (~441 ppi pixel density)

Sorry, but no contest. Especially when I paid $99 for my device brand new, with a two year opt-in, while you are going to pay $150-$200 for a bottom-rung Iphone 5s.

Did I mention having to install rancid bloatware on your machine in order to access your file structure?

Wake me up when Apple does something technically impressive and actually deserves praise for it, because the last time that happened was the Apple II.
Ter13 is spot on there, the iPhones are severely underpowered compared to other mobile devices (that are older obviously).. we have the tech, they won't utilize that and overprice it as usual.

I do have an iPhone 4s I liked it, I've been waiting to grab a S4 or HTC one when my contract is up.. I've been playing with Android for a couple of days and I love the freedom.

I'm not on my computer at the moment so I can't link the sources but as for your spec addressing, there are numerous benchmarks on the web that shows the iPhone 5s is as fastbor faster than the Samsung Galaxy S4, and I can confirm that the iPhone 5s' camera is better than the Samsunf Galaxy S4's because I had one. :)

Btw, higher megapixels on a device literally has no affect on the quality of an image, and the 5s proves that.

You are irrevocably wrong. An 8 megapixel camera does NOT beat a 13 megapixel camera.

A dualcore 1.7ghz processor is not going to beat a 1.9ghz dualchannel quadcore processor in most benchmarks either.

Sorry, but the primary advantage of a 64 bit processor is the ability to have 4gb RAM. Why then, does the Iphone have a hilariously dinky 1GB of RAM?

Hardware-wise, you cannot possibly hope to prove the Iphone 5 is superior.
Alright alright let's not beat each other up over a stupid phone, guys.
I'll just leave this here since all you seem to be fixated on is core count. Read the entire review while you're at it too.
You do realize that those JavaScript benchmarks are all fixated on single-core operations, right?

Not only that, Apple and Android have totally different specifications when it comes to how browsers work.

I'm not saying 64-bit is the inferior technology; Far from it, what I'm saying is simply that the device overall, in daily usage is going to be vastly inferior to the S4.

Plain and simple, time will tell, and with the Note 3 coming out soon, I don't think Apple's 5s is going to hold up as much more than a step in the right direction, but still a failing to address the overall issues that make the Iphone an inferior device.
