I just turned some of my full 32x32 icons into transparent icons. Skipping every other pixel. It would of saved me some time if there was a Template setup to skip every other pixel with the transparency color, then I could just draw my icons, objects whatever. Click on the Transparency temple, and it would cookie cut the transparent color over my icon, saving alot of work for me!

Maybe we can build in something for this in the future. For now, you can use a few tricks to accomplish it without too much labor:

(1) Create an icon with the gridded pattern. Use the transparent color for one cell, and an obscure color (that you won't use elsewhere in your icon) for the other. Save this icon.

(2) Copy the template icon with ctrl+C.

(3) Paste the template on top of the icon you want to make transparent. Only the obscure-colored part will be pasted, so your merged icon will have an alternating pattern.

(4) Use the "swap" tool to swap the obscure-color with transparent (click on "swap", then an obscure-colored pixel in the new icon, then the transparent color).

It's not super-easy, but it certainly should be a lot easier than hitting every other pixel!

Essentially, the grid pattern, which is what I use.
