I think that the default select for the magic select on the games listing shouldn't include the dbz games. Kind of like a DBZ game blocker. It gets really annoying when browsing through looking for a legit game.

Anyone agree?

I also think any game made by Shadowdarke should go to the head of the list. :)

I agree that sorting through all the DBZ games is a hassle that I don't care for, but they do have great quantities of whatever factors decide the magic sort. I don't like the idea of discrimination* in the sort filter, even if it is against a set of fangames that deliver substandard gaming experiences. If you really want to get them lower on the list, gather more people with opinions like your own.

The new channel system allows you to select a particular game channel that you would like to see. Simply avoid the fangames and you should be fine.

* This is separate from any legal restrictions, of course. There has been much debate over the legality of DragonBallZ games, but I have yet to see anyone, pro or con, provide information from the copyright owner about their policy on fan games.

It is the responsibility of the game maker to provide credible verification that their game is legal. Until they can provide such information, I will view their games as illegal and not support them.

If DBZers want to defend their right to make DBZ games, simply write to the copyright holder and ask. The copyright is available at the end of any episode, so you will have no problem finding out who owns it if you just sit through the credits instead of windmilling around the house with arms and legs flailing, screaming "Kamehameha!" at the family pet.

If I remember correctly, Dan or Tom had briefly mentioned a type of sorting that only showed the type of games YOU wanted to look at.

Additionally, Magic Sort, sorts games by the amount of time they spend in Live! and a couple other criterion I think.

I think a good approach to this would be somewhat of a "ignore and favorites" type of deal, where you would select a game and hit "ignore" and *poof* it goes.
