Alright, I'm not sure as to how familiar anyone is with this sort of thing, but alot of site-tracking devices (and oldstyle text muds) use a socket/descriptor. This is similar to an IP in the fact that 95%+ of all ISP's will give a unique _STATIC_ socket to a user. I know that mine is something to the effect of.... d47.as0.gryl.mi.voyager.net. I request that Dantom add support for these sockets (take a peek at Rom2.4b6 source code if you have trouble understanding what they are, and how to get the information on them), a variable that will hold (client.socket) the data. This way BYOND will have a much better support for banning users who abuse and misuse various games/projects/etc.. This is most useful for users of dial-up modems, who recieve a different IP every login, and have multiple keys. Please take this into consideration!

This has been suggested before (as a more wieldy client.hostname or such, though), but it's worth repeating. I think this would definitely be useful.
Keep in mind, though, that it's a good idea to discourage hosts from banning large ISPs, like AOL. It's easier in those cases to set up some kind of entry approval system whereby users on a red-flagged ISP can't get in unless they're known or specifically approved.
