i find all this to be humuros....we r all talkin bout a byond camp..and how dantom is goin to do this and that....yet he hasnt replied...i think we should wait on him before we even start to plan.... :P but thats just me..

While Tom liked the idea, he did imply that something like this might happen after BYOND gains more exposure... We (the BYOND community) are just babbling about possibilities to make a BYONDfest happen a little sooner than later. Once a series of agreeable ideas begin to form, we then start to work with DanTom to make this a reality... | |
Actually... Dantom is two people, Dan and Tom. Tom (the more active one on the boards) has replied.

As Tom and others mention, bringing BYOND to a Con or large industry-related gathering (Deadron mentioned O'Reilly's efforts in that direction) somewhere is probably the next step in BYOND's growth. Once BYOND starts showing a profit somehow, or increases its popularity significantly, it would be easier for DanTom to offer such a BYONDfest to the community. Of course that does not prevent us from having one of our own before then... just requires a lot of work, support and coordination. That's why I made the 'BYONDfest 2002? 2003?' thread in an effort to see how much real interest people have in doing a mini BYONDfest within the next year or so... | |
