Well, I was randomly thinking of various things, and I remember seeing quite a few posts, mostly to the effect of "well when is that in BST?". Obviously we already have the time offset feature, but what about something to the effect of >time = 700<, which would display "7:00 AM", BYOND time, at the users offset (I.E. 10:00 AM for eastern users). Hopefully you get the just of what I'm saying, I'm not really sure exactly how to explain it in "smart" terms.

I think this page can do what you want -- just treat BYOND time as California time.

Well, anyone with a lick of common sense and an understanding of time zones can probably figure out where and what times are. Such a variable would make such computations quite simple, and would only take a small addition to the existing forum system.

While I do like the idea, the point is exactly that -- the computations are quite simple, so I don't see why people can't simply say "8:25 BST". People should be able to figure out their timezone offset by joining the webpage and figuring out the hour separation quite readily, without the need for a feature like that.

If Dantom had any spare time, though, it would be a nice feature to have, simply because it's useful. But let's not force them to do things that aren't necessary. =)
