First of all I apologize if this topic has been bought up or in the wrong forum, I don't visit often.

Anyway, I was searching through the the byond games and I came across icon packs that contain icons from various games, the icons are ripped(copied, taken or whatever) which are being sold for dimes.
Now i'm not a lawyer or anything but isn't that illegal?
From what I know ByondDimes are a form of currency(since you can trade them for real cash and vice versa) so I figure this would break the copyright laws, its kind of similar to selling copied music. You can't really use the excuse "But it took me ages to rip them" because it takes time to do anything illegal, like burning music cds.
Please don't go into arguments about Dbz games because thats been trashed already. I just want to raise a little awareness on this issue.
E-mail [email protected] about it. They're the ones reponsible for all hub-related issues, since no one else has any control over hub contents.

We are discussing possibly moderating such things before they can ask for subscriptions. Unfortunately, this is the source of much fraud. Worst case, it may make BYOND unable to provide this service for non-games anymore; hopefully we can keep that from happening.

Hopefully it doesnt result in stopping non-Subscription Libaries. The icon pack is a great idea, its just abused.
I think that idea of reviewing before asking for subscriptions is a good idea.
Maybe a thing so you can get your key on BYOND's trusted list, after that you can ask for dimes without being reviewed.
That alone would put off a lot of the BYONDCons. However it would not stop all. They would just do something worthy of getting on the list, then start ripping people off.
To combat this youd have to have a report abuse button next to subscribe.
If a user wasnt satisfied with the package, because it made false promises, or contains something illegal (Ie, stolen icons or code) they click the button and it gets reported.
If the accusation is true, then there name is permanantly off the trusted list.
However it would be a very big job keeping track of them all. It would probably require the formation of the BYOND Customer Complaints department.
