Who else here agrees that this new layout for byond is the worst thing they could have ever done. I predict a big loss of bussiness.

i agree it is to complicated, and i dont like the colors and i want it back like it was.

God yes the black was a nice easy on the eyes man. God im selling all and getting out before these dudes go bankrupt.

Though change is usualy for the better and helps many bad situations this cannot apply under this scenioro.
I feel that the dark blue and the black give byond the underground feel. It is this underground feel that attracts so many people to the wonder that is the byond macheine. In summery on the behalf of most byonders we beg of you to change it back or at least find a less visualy offensive color scheme and layout. Ter out. | |
if people leave and stop using there services then theyll stop geting income and will began to lose money

What income are they getting? In case you have been ignoring every single post about it, Tom and Dan are losing money per user.

It is much more professional looking, and it is much more attractive. It does a great job of keeping people who just want to play games out of the programming part, which will make the site very newbie friendly. I don't understand why people in this thread dislike it. It will take a bit of getting used to, but without change there can be no improvement. | |

I think its good to say you dont like it, yes he is going a little overboard, but it does need to be said. This new layout may look more prof. but i dont like it as much. I would rather it to be returned to at least the old color scheme even if most of the graphics stayed the same.

Yes he is entitled to his own opinion, but when that opinion is criticizing the creators of BYOND, then that’s a little to far overboard. I only find one thing wrong with the new site, some new comers might find it hard to get to the forums. But hopefully they didn’t oversee that, and will make it a little easier later on. But, nonetheless, it looks great in my opinion. The old site was frames, as I recall that was outdated a very long time ago. People would visit the site, see how poorly the old site was, and not even bother wasting there time downloading BYOND. Now when they come here, they see nothing but profession, it’s common sense if you ask me. RaeKwon | |

While I believe that is a harsh way of seeing things, I agree with the sentiment that the new layout is not optimal. While the color scheme of Developer Central is acceptable, the orange and beige of the Games section is hard on the eyes and, at least to me, looks ugly. I am glad that there are now two sites instead of one, a very wise decision in my eyes. And it may be that frames are seen as unprofessional - but the current appearance does not look very professional to me either - it looks like someone got a community script and put it online. It is much too overloaded - too many elements simultanously. I can really believe that this can frighten off and confuse newbies. Maybe if it were a bit simplicized, and a differant color scheme (or at the ability to choose skins!), then I wouldn't have a problem with it. At the moment, however, it looks like any other thousand script-based communities out there. I like BYOND, and the new design won't prevent me from coming here, so you don't have to worry about that. I just have to wonder why this design has been chosen, though. splatty | |
