Now that the BYONDimes are gone, it somewhat seizes the thought of donating for something in a game, or charging for your game in general. I would be glad if for version 4.0 they added a PayPal code instead of a BYONDimes code. But who knows how long 4.0 will take before it’s released to the public.
I now have over 1500 dimes in my account. I have no way to sign up for PayPal since I’m Canadian; and in order to sign up you need to have a credit card. I, for one, don’t have a credit card, but my grandparents do. Trying to get them to let me use their credit card online will be the biggest mission I have ever engaged in.
I found BYONDimes to be a good way to earn some extra cash, and it felt good when I withdrew that I was helping Dantom in one way or another. Even knowing it was $20 they got, it still felt good, and I knew it was helping the community.
What is Dantom going to do for a income now? May this very well be the end of BYOND? Why didn’t they just hire some secretaries to deal with the incoming checks, and outgoing checks, etc..? If it’s because they don’t want to be in a position where trust is involved, then why not log everything? These are some questions I would like answered when Tom does his public announcement on the real reason.
Without having BYONDimes, it eliminates a lot of possibilities that made BYOND stand out more than other languages. Now you can take up Visual Basic and create basically the same games as you can in BYOND, with a more not-so-limited boundry. BYONDimes brought interaction to the community, but it also brought obscene things to happen... “Zeta clones..”
I for one would pay for the use of the hub, to upload games etc.. There is so many ways around “vanquishing BYONDimes” it’s unbelievable.

Before you get all worked up over stuff, I'd wait for an official announcement from Dantom about exactly what's going to happen. They've managed to make BYOND as cool as it is up to this point, I doubt that they are suddenly going to do something that will hurt BYOND's future rather than help it.

I don't think this should have been gotten rid of, myself, but I know it has to be done... I think one of the main reasons they got rid of them were all the issues that they had to be hassled about concerning DBZGokuIconTradingMasta67's dimes being stolen when he tried to buy GM from BigBuuPooPooMasterIStealDimes598. I think that Dantom should have put up a polocy that the dimes are none of Dantom's concern and Dantom will not ban people from BYOND unless they abuse it illegally (Not including BYONDDime scams, etc.).
I heard stuff about Dantom wanting to try to sell BYOND in stores, but because you can make money off of them so easily with BYOND dimes, that would definately sweaten the BYOND crop and get more sales. Though if they sell it in stores they are going to have thousands more people making money, and think about that... They would spend their already busy days writing checks for 20 cents to hundreds of people at a time! This is where PayPal comes in because PayPal handles it for them. | |

Are you blind? Silk has posted many, many things on his game information, and in the forums, telling people if you cheat, etc. he will take your subscribtion away from you without a refund.

1500 dimes? I made more than that off Icon Trading, but other than that yes. Byond is going Crazy and it is getting hard for some ppl to get there money off. I see why mostr of the oldies left and gave it up. This site is crawling with newbies, which is ok, but comeone we want the good ppl back. I got my Dimes off a while ago and since then BYOND is just goiong crazy. What I say is: No more BYOND soon.
