I like how My subject rhymes =D

but to the point, I noticed that there where MILLIONS if not TRILLIONS of midis on byond. I noticed 1 thing they all had in common, the song consisted of notes, no voices. So... I was wondering if the was a midi maker =D
I did a google search and found out some cool things, but I didn't find a free one.

Thanks To Anyone that Helps =D

(Post Script: By the way.... My computers a windows.... then again, to have byond you need windows, so I guess I'm stating the obvious and should quit while I'm ahead)
Firstly; your thread name did not rhyme, it was an example of alliteration.

Secondly; I searched around but to no avail. I found a program that lets you record your voice as a MIDI, but that is about all.

You can't really have voices in MIDI files. A MIDI file just instructs the computer to play certain instruments at a certain pitch for a certain amount of time. Each computer plays a MIDI file differently. The sound produced varies from one computer to another.

Precisely. That's why many of use want support for Ogg Vorbis sound files, and tracker files like MOD, S3M, IT, and XM. Each of those files sounds the same on every computer (barring subtle differences between the frequency cutoffs of the speakers and all that), for a fair tradeoff in file size. OGG files reach into the 1-2 megabyte category, and MOD/S3M/IT/XM files reach into the 200-500 kilobyte category (sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on the complexity).

Hey, I didn't believe it either but : http://download.com.com/3000-2170-10188627.html?tag=lst-0-9 has a program that says, and I quote

"e-Xpressor MIDI Voicer 1.2
Convert audio from a human voice into MIDI in real time.
OS: Windows 98/Me/2000/XP
File Size: 957K
License: Free to try "

I tried it out. As I expected, it doesn't work. As in, not at all. Not one bit. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Ok, But then could you tell me one that lets you use notes?

hmmm, I have an idea... If you look at the byond coding help file (F1) and search for sound you can get this:

Format:
sound(file,repeat=0,wait,channel)
(supports named arguments)

Args:
file: A sound file to play.
repeat: 1 to play sound repeatedly.
wait: 0 to interrupt current sound on channel; 1 to wait in queue
channel: 0 for any available channel, 1-8 for specific channel (wavs only)

You could use this for wavs with voics on it,

bascially, its playing over the midi, but you would have to get the timing perfect for it to work.

You might want to try Anvil Studios then, that of course is free.

You're very much welcome :)

Nope... It is not only just for Windows, it is also for FreeBSD and Linux too.

If you looked on the downloads page you would knowtice that it tells you it supports those two there ;)

Also, wavs have huge filesizes, pointlessly huge. So they are not the thing to use...under any cerumstance, it is better to have a popup window that plays an mp3 if you want voice or most any sound besides midi.

Actually, you can convert wav files to a size that is the same as an mp3, making them pretty much mp3s disguised as wavs. They will play on BYOND, but the downside is that if another wav is played, it will stop the first wav. So these would be good only for games which have music, but no sound effects.
Well (i know this post is already old), I use ModPlug to write my midis. Though modplug ( http://www.modplug.com ) is nto designed for midis, so panning information is gone, so is tempo and pitchbends and stuff.. I use CakeWalk to fix up the midis but I am sure there is a free solution to do that also.. Results may vairy but I've had good results with it myself ;)
I find Fruity Loops Demo(Or full if you have kazaa *wink*) very useful for creating music.
