you know how when you edit the icons and when you are done, you HAVE to click the "Back" button? well, i think that making a Backspace key to go back would help us a lot since th Backspace key is not used in the built-in icon editor.

More keyboard shortcuts are always a good thing. I can't tell you how many times I've been furious about having to double-click or right-click to be able to edit an icon state name (something we still don't have a keyboard shortcut for, by the way).

It takes the same amount of energy to hit BACKSPACE on the keyboard or BACK on the DM interface.

That isn't at all true; a mouse is positioned differently and someone who's mostly using the keyboard should have the keyboard as an option. Many times this summer, in fact, I wished I could hit backspace instead of clicking the mouse when working on icons. Regardless, redundant interfaces--such as ones where keyboard and mouse can do the same things--are a good thing. Lummox JR |

ya. some people is too lazy to use an outside program to do their icon editing. although the DM icon editor isn't as good as the Adobe photoshop or PSP, etc., i just use it although i have both of those image editors. Hitting BACKSPACE is can help all icon editors make their icon a bit faster instead of moving their mouse back and forth everytime thy finish making an icon state

Think though. When working on an icon, are you using the keyboard or the mouse?

It still require less effort to lift your hand and tap one key, then to move your hand AND a mouse and click a button. Unless you have one of those special gloves (which I intend to get soon) your mouse can weigh a significant gram or so!

Think though. When working on an icon, are you using the keyboard or the mouse? I usually have one hand on the keyboard for hitting shortcuts for things like copy/paste and one hand on the mouse. So I use both and I'm sure if someone is cycling through a lot of icons backspace would definantly be faster as you'd probably have your hand over it. |

Well, you click on the screen with mouse, and to use tools you hav to move the mouse all the way over ther, and then click, and then move all the way back, and so on. The keybord shud be used for evrything that is not pointing to a posisen on screen. |
