No no no no no.Bots are a program that you tell to join a certain ip or host(not sure how it works)And you type what you want it to say and it will flood that chat.Mostly for advertising porn sites on chat rooms but also for flooding.

Oh yeah, you... Snowfox, the guy that exploited that BYOND bug that lagged worlds, and got banned for it, then blamed your "little cousin". Yeah, the same guy who always spams or blocks in Icon Chatters(z), then blames a sibling or a friend, yeah, the same guy who... I have good reason to dislike you. Any time you do something wrong, which is whenever you are online, you try to weasel out of it. I mute you, you page me until I unmute you, I ban you, you page me something about admin abuse, and page your friends to tell me to unban you, I slap you, you yell at me and threaten me, telling me to slap you again... To be honest, Snowfox, I don't see why Tom unbanned you. I think exploiting that bug was a permanent ban... So my apparent dislike for you isn't just apparent, it's extremely obvious, and justified.
Plus, if a "creator" of an icon game is stupid enough to let an obvious bug like that pass through the cracks, they deserve to have it exploited. | |
Actually it was my cousin i don't really care who believes me second i'e only seen you twice in a game.First time we argued aboutsomthing and you did'nt like me from then.Second when you join ic you bann me once you log in even if i hav'nt said a word.I've never spammed or trapped and blamed it on someone else because sense i joined arthosa has a code so admins can double click an obj and see who built it so how could i lie?Most of me paging you and stuff you jsut made up.I paged you that you banned me for no reason and then a added you to my pager bann list.So please don't talk crap.
Also.. There is'nt a way to stop bots unless dantom can do somthing.So calling arthosa,Life_Hunter,And engine master stupit does'nt really effect anyhting seeing most of us could'nt really stop a bot if it has your host ip address. | |

First of all, a bot is a program that automates activity in a game, thus, they would have to be an actual client connected to the world. Thus, meaning they would fall under the same consequences that a normal person would. This just doesn't sound like a valid story to me. Ip key address? I don't exactly think you know what you are talking about... If someone actually did do something wrong, report them, don't just weasel around on the forums. You can't really steal someone's IP, you can use an IP address, and you can use a Key. If the moron allowed his key to be used by someone else, and they are abusing it, that's his fault, and he should be banned for it. Just like if someone('s cousin) abuses an extreme bug in BYOND, and crashes like five worlds for no apparent reason... Particularly one world got crashed five times in a row, one you commonly go to... one you commonly play under the same key name as you used to crash the world, even though you don't use that key anymore for some, mildly suspicious reason... *cough*

After being around the bot creators in chatters (and trying to make one myself, but failing miserably) I know a bit on how they work.
These guys aren't bots. They're (as someone else said) just real people copying and pasting. This is how the bot basically works. A program uses API to find the Dream Seeker window. Then it locates the command bar. Then, it puts text in the command bar. Then it sends a message that would be the same as pressing 'enter' or 'return'. The chatters bots were more advanced than that, but we don't need to get into detail for that. Anywho, there needs to be a DreamSeeker window open. There's no way for the bots to steal "IPs and Keys". Plus, I doubt those guys could make a bot. I know uub, he used to be a Proelium frequent. Yes but can you explain why there name is blank and due to this noone can boot-bann them?Also if you are going to say that they just added a space or put nothing you should know thats not possible in chatterz :p,and I don't really know about "bots" I just know omeone made them with no real reason but to spam chats which is why I thought it could be used on byond.

In my opinion it is a good thing that some people try and make things like that, people that find leaks in security. It just goes to show that these people need to tighten their security, and the people finding away around have given them a clue in parts where the security has been breached.

In Chatters he's only ever marginally behaved that I've seen, and I had to pager ban him myself because in a game I was hosting he wouldn't stop sexually harassing other players. Yes, really.
