Been thinking maybe I want to but I don't want to start a contest that no one enters. That wouldn't be fun. Also I'd only be able to put up like $30, so I'd need help to put up anymore than that and I think people are all donated out right now. BYOND has done this massive donation drive and donations to the last two failed contest are hardly confidence inspiring.

Whoever runs it just needs to be organized and dedicated. As long as it's well planned out and promptly judged, the only thing that can really go wrong is the judging being poor. Let's use a really good game that should have been in the top 3 getting, say, 10th place for a good example... ahem...

I think it'd be best to take a few days to get everything organized, though. It wouldn't hurt to take notes from the previous contests to see where things went wrong, either. In short, pretty much what Fugsnarf said in his first sentence. |

I would like there to not be the same drama and fallout from the last one, but I guess the community's toxicity is to blame there.
I would prefer it if it was run by a byond staff member or someone who isn't an idiot, but beggars can't be choosers; I'm not interested in running a contest at this moment, so who am I to complain about the people that want to run contests?
