I think there should be two types of rankings, one based off the number of players who play the game, and the other based off of ratings by BYOND Members. Just for a change of pace, being able to see the 'popularity' if you will, of a game.
I second that!

Yes, that's a good idea, because members aren't a large percent of the community. So games can be pushed up to #1 pretty easily. Although then DBZ games would probably get a high non-member rating.

You could always add a filter to it, so itd only show non-dbz games when you clicked the "non-dbz" filter or sumthing...

Or better yet, only include games in an official channel, to filter out a good majority of the crap. This would exclude some decent games, but why rate a game before it is complete and ready to be advertised to all?

What the hell are you talking about? That is like game-ism the only games that should be seperated are the non-original ones. Which 99% aren't original, but still the way you described it seemed so blunt. And if that was the case they would hire people game to game to give them the lowest rating. If they want something like that, they are going to maybe hire a group of "Ranking Judges" that is the only way it will ever be fair.
Not a good idea since then the motivation of getting a BYOND membership would be lowered.
Like Death said, BYOND ranking is mostly for getting people to buy memberships.

Also, people who buy memberships are more often people who make good decisions... Therefore, it filters out a lot of the crap from the top. You make a "popularity" ranking, you should expect to see the first few pages full of DBZ and icon games where 7 year olds go to power level to 100 million pl on their favorite punching bag.

Even though not everyone gets to participate, it's still a lot nicer having more legit games in the top 100.
