Developers who are also BYOND Members could benefit from this. I saw this recently on a game I found, called "Space Station 13". I blended in perfectly, or at least as perfect as you can get. I read everything I could get my hands on. Now I even know complex things, like operating the "DNA machine" as it's called.
Appearantly, Space Station 13 does have new forums, but are using the standard BYOND forums so they can keep an archive of those old ideas and comments.
I've got some ideas that would be for BYOND Members, and some that would be for everyone (or rather, developers-only) to use.
x BYOND Members could tick a box and their original BYOND forums would still exist. Perhaps the ticking of an additional box adds an "Click here to view our forum archive." link under the "Forum" link.
x Anyone would be able, as well as archiving their forums, convert them into popular formats like phpBB, XMB, SMF and MyBB. This would pop out a .sql file so it can be injected into their database.
x Anyone would be able to lock the forum so no posts can be made except for the owner of the hub entry.
x As a possible addition to the previous idea, perhaps make a permission system, so you can specify which groups may read the forum, which groups may post on the forum, which groups may reply on the forum, and so on.
x For BYOND Members: the ability to create your own custom groups on your forum, and perhaps even add sub-forums which can be individually set for permissions.
