Just wanted to post to let everyone know I am still working on Ninja Kaisen. I have updated the hub with a few new screenshots.

I have a fairly small playable map ready for when alpha testing begins, for the longest time I've actually be experimenting with different UI styles and deciding on how I want the user interface to work.

I have finally got the character handling completed and it is rather nice looking so far:

Loading one of my available characters.

A confirmation to make certain you actually wanted to delete a character.

A warning informing a user that the character was deleted.

The character creation.

I have a lot to talk about here, this is going to be a fairly large class-based RPG.

You will start as one of the four currently available classes and it branches off from there.

The currently listed classes from left to right are as follows:

Swordsman, Assassin, Hunter, and Empowered.

Each of these classes has four planned paths that can be followed providing different techniques.

The swordsman uses long swords & heavy armor, the assassin uses twin blades & medium armor, the hunter uses a variety of weapons (Bows, Crossbows, possibly guns.), and the last class "Empowered" use elemental, or mental style "ninja techniques" which are secret arts that have been passed down to them.

We are currently looking for help (mainly pixel artists, but ideas and testers are always welcome.)

If you would like more information feel free to contact me on the BYOND pager.
+1

EDIT: I'd like to be a tester, do you have Skype?
I actually do have skype it is realmofikioi feel free to add me.

and for the sake of making this reply less pointless:

I'm trying to work on the in-game UI at the moment, here is a concept for the Level, EXP, Health, and Energy display.

To all pixel artists reading this:
Stop working on whatever project you are working on. As they will not earn you money. Lifehunter is one of the top dogs of coding and is planning on making money off his game via micro-transactions and of course moving it to other platforms. Don't be concerned about the graphics! These are just place holders for now until he has the proper money to pay pixel artists to make this dream come true! Help support Lifehunter today as a pixel artist and help him out by working under his wing and you could share the wealth he will be having when the game ports to the consoles/mobile devices! Hurry up before it is too late! Be apart of the glory of Ninja Kaisen! (No I don't work for him just a supporter and tester. ^_^)
Ahhhh.... - Ok...

Well I have worked a bit more on that and advanced that concept quite a bit.

The artwork is very pretty and eye catching.
They're place holders I believe.
Yes, they are place holders but only due to the fact we want to make it even better looking. Ninja Kaisen is on delay. Lifehunter's PC hit the sac and has to go in for warranty. :/ Aka he might have to re-do everything but the icons. :(

Well, I'm sure thats not the case. They can recover harddrive data pretty easily nowadays.

This.

The base is kinda eh but the turfs looks beautiful but the real shining aspect is the interface. That interface is just, divine.

Sadly, it looks like it. He could bring it in and possibly recover it but he'd go without a PC for a week or two. He also said everything can be remade.
From what I know the tree's and grass is from AmonR.

Trees are free resources from Amon. o.o He gave credit to Amon on the hub.
Minor update! We are not losing any data at all. :) Looks like he found a fix. Note to all: NEVER get Windows 8. Yeah, Windows 8 locked him out. :/

He was able to back up his stuff! :D Nothing was lost. =P
As Hansuke mentioned the majority of what you see are placeholders, with the exception of the GUI. There is a lot of stuff I am capable of replacing but haven't. Branks has allowed me to use a lot of resources that have sped up development a lot, he is credited on the hub accordingly. If you take a look at the hub as well you will see credits to free resources that I am using with a link back to their original posting on the BYOND forum for reference. (I think there may be one missing which I have to work on finding again.) my hope is to replace things rather fast through development if my programming peaks some interest. the GUI is my work with the exception of the font which is listed as CC0 (public domain) on OpenGameArt.

Thank you for the comments, I have actually been trying to make it look as nice as possible even with the graphics replacement a huge possibility in the near future. I'm sure any of the artists who worked on the resources they posted would love to see their work in action and they have every right to check it out if they wish.

As for my computer situation, I have backed up my important files and that was quite a scare. Apparently windows 8 professional which came pre-installed on my PC locks up the windows folder and doesn't allow any writing. This is a hilarious feature because it even disabled the ability to do a refresh or any kind of recovery using the windows 8 disk. From what I can tell, complete boot failures with windows 8 are actually rather common and the main culperate seems to be something that happens with the RAID controller making the fact that you can't fix the operating system even more funny.

I have backed up my files and I'm downgrading the windows 7, it seems like the smartest decision to make. On a side note; when I'm not developing I will prolly be using Ubuntu Linux.

Never upgraded myself. I saw too many attempts to get into my private life with microsoft and control what I play when I play. Lot of unnecessary bull if you ask me.
