But that's just weird. How do you find a game? They're all in categories now.

I think you just answered your own question. =)

I want to view the full list of games; non-category-based. This is what "Games Live" did for me. And don't even think about being able to view Unpublished Games, because that link has been removed too. You can only get there is you click here but there's no link any more on the main site. :(

Not to mention you can bypass the redirect if you just click here, but I'd like to get the ability to view all games in a single list back, rather than having to search each separate category.

I think they should at least make a "View All Games" link with the one you showed x.x

The thing is, few people need the full listing and the ones who get it just get depressed or turned off by all the rips. Some people have even gotten so fed up with rips as to take drastic actions. We prefer to put forth a better image for BYOND, and that means making games easier to find by what they are.

If that's the new method of doing it, I think the guilds actually should use a stylesheet somewhat similar to the games page. Because if I was a new person, I'd wonder what happened when I clicked one of those links.

This also explains why the IU user populace has gone from thirty - forty, down to roughly ten.

Heh. Irony hurts.

I'm starting to think this is a sham to get people to become members and add games to their pager.

But then I see Lummox's link.. another URL saves the day.

Will the games live be back up? I think it would be hard for people to find games that aren't in an official guild.

Then those games should be put into an official guild. We'll be having open submissions shortly.

I guess thats more motivation for me to make my game playable.
I have to disagree with this new update to the website. There are a few things I would like to point out, that could be reinserted, or just switch back.

This new website with the new, groups, make it almost impossible to browse, and try new games. I get on today, and I see this odd page come up and I think to myself, "Ok this is just a new page, handy" but when I click the live games button, I get this page(the used to be live games page) again. So I click the RPG games, thinking my favirote roleplaying game, Hidden Wind Clan, will be there, and it isn't. So I search in the search box, and it doesn't come up. Eventually, I just used the member search and used that way to get to Nightmare3's game.

This makes it very hard to browse, and try new games. I think it discourages people for looking for new games, and may have an impact on how great games out there, actually get ranked by members. The reason being is that it's just so hard to find the game your looking for, and new game makers, may not have a very popular place to put them.

This being said, I'm sure Dantom and all his administrators thought it would make things easier, and it probably did for some people. All I'm suggesting is mabye reinsert the live games system, and also keep this system, so it's like a compromise. We, who like the live games system, get our live games system back, and you, who like this version, keep your version. That way, everyone is happy.

I agree with you.

Believe me, I'm in favor of the guilds. I think they're a great idea, and it's good that we're getting organised into little sub communities.

However, I still feel that we should be able to view all live games. If not all live games, at least all of the live games in all the guilds on one simple page. I'm sure there's plenty of people who like games in all the guilds, and while there's nothing wrong with being in 5 or 6 guilds, it's definitely a pain to go through 5 or 6 pages to find a game you like.

In response to Tom
Perhaps this change should've waited until the guilds were a little more full, then?

I really do hope a "View All" page is added, because this is pretty annoying. It's making games less public, almost.
It was less confusing back then..
In response to Makaveli02
I actually find it easier to use now. It's probably confusing you because you're used to the old system.

But they changed it to make it easier to navigate games, and moderate what goes where.

One, "little" problem with that. Right now it seems your game's gonna get very much notice if it's an Action, Anime, Casual, RPG, or Strategy game.

Also, I disagree with putting this much power in the hands of the guild leaders. Basically, you've got to meet THEIR standards with YOUR game, else, your game doesn't get noticed and slowly dies.

Yes, I know that all the rips are a major problem, but I don't think this was the solution. I would have put a "rips" category much like the "unpublished games" category, under live games.
In response to Chessmaster_19
As Tom said, there will be open submissions, so you -don't- have to meet the guildleaders' standards. I do believe that there will be a special status for games that do, but games that don't will still get plenty of notice.

The guild themselves are fine, but removal of a single place for us to see all the games wasn't the greatest idea, in my opinion.
