Network delay changing when not hosting

For some reason, when I mash the keys in a single player game, the network delay rises, even though I'm running it on my machine. It doesn't really make much sense to have network delay when there is no network!

How are you connecting to the game?

I hit the download button on the hub, and then hit DreamSeeker when the option came up on the splash scree. Like I said, I never hosted it, etc.

Strange then. I thought maybe it was related to another issue where you connect to a game via your own IP, but I guess not.
