When was it ever renowned for this? If the program allowed, I could run 2 MapleStory's at once (running performance tests and such said my PC's RAM would be able to run 2 of them) with no problems (though it only lets you do 1 (the game), mind you, MS is a pretty resource-demanding free-to-play MMO).

With AVG? One is very laggy. It also has far too many false positives and never does anything to what it does find.

Avg is like a constant drain on my resources. I guess ever anit-virus is but there is a noticeable decrease in performance when I install it.

The reason AVG has gone to hell since version 8.x or so, is because they got a different team, mostly, but their best people left AVG a few updates before V 8, and went to other places like avast, and some other companies, and the guy who responded about the group named BYOND, you are right, however this problem has acctually existed for awhile, if its just starting to pop up, its an outdated problem that they are seemingly ignorant to. AVG is losing a lot of money, and employees, so you cant blame them for becoming shotty, especially for having a free anti virus. Avast is a good system, norton yeah, no. AVG is just going down that hill that all companies eventually hit, whether or not they rebound is up to how nuch money they make.

I guess in the end the answer is that you get what you pay for. I use the free version so I don't really mind if every now and then things like this happen or I lose a bit of performance. In the end it's still a great deal for me.
