I was looking at the feature tracker and it shows that pretty much all of the items on the list besides a few are listed as open now. Is this some kind of issue with the feature tracker or is there some reason that this was changed from what it was previously?

We weren't respecting the status codes so we decided to keep it simple: an issue is either open, resolved, or not gonna happen. In the future we may bring back "On the List" but only if we can ensure that that status will mean "in progress for the next release". For now, you can find our thoughts on "open" issues in the comments.

So are we also to expect that the more popular voted on issues are still going to be considered first for the update? I know the icon editor idea that got a ton of votes is "on the list", but I wonder about the other ones. Unless the specifically say that they are going to be added or what have you, there will be very little way to tell whether you should vote for it or what. I mean, I retracted my vote from the icon thing because after it was said that it would be added, there were other more important things for me to work on.

As a for instance: the second top voted profile network only has 3 comments and those comments don't really give any information about whether or not it will be added.

You shouldn't retract votes. When a feature is resolved, you'll get your vote back. It's kind of an honor-code thing.

The votes don't necessarily indicate what will be done first; we have to factor in how difficult the request is. The purpose of the system is to give us an idea of how popular a request is.

Well, no offense but if you already plan on adding it and I only get 5 votes... It kind of makes sense to retract my vote to use it on something else. Considering things might be added to the list of updates, but the update might not come for the next month and a half. In the mean time 5 other things might pop up that I feel I should vote on that are more important than the original things I voted for, which is/was added... But won't be "resolved" for a while. I mean is there an ETA on the next update or when the first item on the list will be resolved? Because if it is going to take more than a few weeks or months, then suddenly 5 votes really doesn't look like much. Especially with new and interesting idea's being added constantly.

Just saying..
