I have hamachi, i use that to host minecraft servers with my friends. But i dont know if it works in byond. I tried to host my byond game, but it wont let my friend join. Is there any other way other than portforwarding to host a byond game?
You can purchase a server to host for you.

Hamachi does work with BYOND. The only downside (and it's a deal-breaker, for me) is that all your clients have to be in your Hamachi server before being able to join your game.

That's how Hamachi works ... it essentially fakes a LAN over WAN ... if you want to host outside of LAN .. don't use Hamachi. Either portforward or purchase a server.
Is there any particular reason not to use port forwarding? On most routers it's extremely simple to setup.

Neither the kids nor the parents remember the login info.
If you can't remember a router's login info, all you have to do is manually reset it. The router's manual has instructions for this.

True, but kids and parents often don't realize that.
