Opacity of Interface Controls

Problem description:

So in my project, I have the stats of the player and the player they are targeting posted in a grid control. I would -love- if I could somehow make the background of this grid transparent so I could lay it over the map. Is this somehow doable?

If it's in it's own window, yes. You can't change the opacity of individual controls.

I finally started toying with this an managed to create what I wanted with a window, however this isn't doable with a pane is it?

Nope. Just windows.
