I'm running Windows 7 and this: http://i.imgur.com/gYpjMph.png
is what it said (Pardon my blurring of the address)
I've tried with firewall on, off, only on for public, and only on for private. I have had no luck in getting it to work, I always have that error (Albeit with a different port depending on what I do)
I've scanned the forums and have been unsuccessful in finding anything to help. Any help will be sincerely appreciated - Matthew
Many people, like myself, are not able to host through our internet. If you do have a router, and it is NOT DSL, then my solution may work.
You will need what is called a static IP address in order to port forward. Usually you only have this problem if you have a wireless router, but in some cases you'll need it regardless. If you look it up, some people may say to contact your internet service provider to look into it, but you can actually do it yourself if you have at least some basic computer knowledge. Here's a video tutorial for Windows 7 users that should work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojVS3-TG7uM After you setup the static IP address, login to your router by entering your internet's default gateway into your internet browser and entering a username and password that is set to your router. Goto where you set the ports, and portforward your port to the static IP address you setup. Hope this helps! :D |
