So you're not renewing your brazzers membership?

What a troll. xD I cry everytime.
I wonder why this topic should even exist. I understand that the intention of it was to be entirely hypothetical, but it still does not sound very supportive of getting Tom to succeed with this project. There just doesn't seem to be much point, other than giving trolls and other people that think they're funny (but really are not) a feeding ground.

Even if hypothetical, why would Tom want to completely sell out his life's work for someone else to take over and quite possibly scrap this tool that far bypasses it's original purpose?

I totally agree with this.
I think $50'000 is way too cheap. The project seems like it could bring in at least $40'000 a year as long as the amount of users remains consistent, and that's a low estimate.

If someone purchases the website for 50k and makes all of their money back within a year, that's good business haha. I'd push it up to around $200'000.

And in the case that said buyer doesn't hire a full-time programmer, I don't think most of the users would go "oh, the software is no longer being developed..." and up and leave, because it's essentially a finished product... not to mention that most of them are only here to play games anyhow. If it comes down to it, from what I can see, it looks like Tom has a neat little engine on his hands that will always provide an income regardless of what he does with his time.
Tom has posted the numbers himself. Look them up.

He was making nothing because he has himself and Lummox as full-time employees, for good reason obviously, but it's not like the website would die off in a couple of months if they weren't developing.
Please, direct me to these "numbers" you speak of.
._. Sometimes, I wish I could shove my hand through my computer screen without breaking it.. and instead, having it exit out of your screen, grab you trolls by your necks and.. yeah. *looks off in to the distance*
The last man who tried to grab me no longer exists.

Be careful what you wish for, Xirre.
People take my curiosity for trolling :(

I really wanted to know if Cart12 was going to renew his brazzers membership and I really want to see Tom's Income through Byond despite the fact that I know it will have excessive amounts of ramen stains rendering it unreadable.

@Xirre, I've grown accustomed to your face..or uh avatar. I'll probably stalk you for quite a bit.

This is before the donation progress bar was added, roughly $45k a year... which makes up Lummox's wage (which is obviously very low for someone of his experience) and can cover the server costs. Basically, what could be afford before was an underpaid employee doing this out of love for the project (I assume) and fairly powerful / stable servers.

Even so, that's a lot of income if someone was able to purchase this gig for $50k. I think it's reasonable to stay that BYOND was retain its popularity even if it wasn't being actively developed and it would bring in a similar number.
