Can't people have ranks; "Programmer","Pixel Artist". Some could have like:"#1 Pixel Artist of the Month" by providing free resources and:"#1 Programmer of the Month".
Also, ++
I like this. A lot.

The only way do it correctly would be to not have forum signatures. That's your opinion. |

Honestly, if forum signatures - or user titles - were added, moderators would have to be allowed to edit another user's. Otherwise, they'd be abused to poop.

Signatures are bad on any forum but BYOND can limit how bad they look by:
-Forcing sigs to be uploaded FILES (Disabling gif files would be a good idea to prevent lag when loading pages) -Since sigs will be uploaded files, it will be possible to set a max size (in Pixel,not mb) preventing people from uploading huge sigs. -Add rules. People not respecting them loses their current sig and the right to have a new one...FOREVA! Instead of adding sigs, give us back our blogs! T_T |

That's the only way I see signatures working well, is with them being shown in the blogs. But, I didn't want to post and rile that up again.

The main advantage I would see to signatures would be for extra game advertisement. Face it, not everyone is going to go to your topic or your hub and play your game. However, if you have a limited-size banner that links to your hub that automatically appears on every post you've ever made, you're bound to get many more visitors.

This is exactly why I like the feature. It could be annoying with fan-games, but it is great for original. Another effective way to use this would be to have a website displaying all of your games, that is providing you have at least a few, and then have the banner link to the website.
This would then allow you to increase the traffic each of your games receives simply by being an active poster in the BYOND forums. That could get people discussing things more, or maybe even helping out more because every post helps. |

I was thinking we could have a little tag below the icon that Members could set. Eg, "#1 troll" bump: pls |

Hmm, seems like this could be a nice little addition to the forums indeed. If easy enough to implement -being that it isn't necessary, as kozuma and the rest have already acknowledged- then although i don't expect it to be particularly high up the list of things (unless it can be done super quickly :p) i do think there are merits as the toddab and others have mentioned. As long as the sizes measurements/memory-wise (no gifs? only small size gifs?) are restricted in a good way, and alsoooo made a member only feature, well then... Eureka! Why not! :D (not that i'm that excited but it's been a while since i've seen a Eureka, heh.) |
Your opinion.
And some even love them.
I think they will make the forum more appealing.
