I respectfully disagree with your last statement, but that's your opinion.
Graphics =/= Better game
Gameplay, story, character development, multi-player support, innovation, creativity. Those all lead to a good game, no matter what the graphics are.
I clearly mentioned calculations such as simulation for that reason.
You could not get the gameplay of, say, Vanquish, from any system with lesser hardware. Graphics help, but indeed do not ultimately matter. | |
Well, obviously there are things you can't do on a NES that you can do on PS4. It depends on the genre and gameplay type.

Exactly, and as time goes on, there will be things that are only possible on PS69, that weren't possible on PS4.
It's all a matter of having the best possible console, to put out the best performance, to make the best game. As such, developers will flock to THAT console instead of to the competition, and it will have more games. | |

Honestly, I'll buy both. Apparently, it'll be WAY easier to program game for XBOX One and PS4 since both of them are using some utility used by the computer. I find this quite interesting since a lot of game might come faster than expected!

I saw this thread and though to myself. Gaming PC. I have and never will go console. Unless it's the console in "Gamer" but by the time that hits, PC Gaming would have caught up to it. Consoles, like mobile phones, are trying to become what they aint supposed to be. XBox One really? Cause it's the ONE thing you'd need? Get a damn PC.

They all play games.
The only difference is how much shit they can support.
Sure you should just go for whichever one has the most fun games but, there's isn't a genre, a niche or some sick fetish that hasn't already been made, so all that's left is to make it again, only better.
Better generally means more intensive in some way, be it graphically or more simulation calculations or one of a thousand things.
Better hardware = better games, that's why I wouldn't touch 99% of NES games anymore. Sure they're fun for some replayability and nostalgia but they are LITTERALLY inferior to most modern games.
