This issue has been resolved.
When you receive a notification that someone posted on something while you have that person's profile open in your pager, their tab lights up red but contains no notification.

I forgot to add the note to this thread as well, but I believe this behavior was fixed in 499.1194. Please retest there. It should only have happened when you're following a forum thread.

Correct behavior in the case of an alert on a follow-up comment is to flash the Feed tab if it is not active or the pager itself is not active.
