Descriptive Problem Summary:
I'm getting the 'dreamseeker.exe has encounter a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.' Message whenever I try to join 'any' game on byond right after the advertisement has finished playing and before it actually loads up the game.

AppName: dreamseeker.exe
AppVer: 4.0.499.1191
ModName: dreamseeker.exe
ModVer: 4.0.499.1191
Offset: 0000b33a

OS: Windows XP SP3

I've attempted a clean install of Byond after the problem but to no real avail in fixing the problem, by clean install I mean literally deleted every shred of byond from my laptop before re-installing the newest version.

If I can provide any more helpful info into assisting me with the solution of this problem please ask me and tell me how to receive this information so I can send it. <3 I'm not computer illiterate so yeah.

Thanks again.

Numbered Steps to Reproduce Problem:
1. Click Join Game.
2. Advertisment window loads (aka dreamseeker.exe)
3. Upon completed resource download/advert 'dreamseeker has encountered and error and needs to close...etc'
4. Fist through laptop monitor. (j/k)

Expected Results: Usual game Load

Actual Results: 'dreamseeker.exe has encountered a problem....'

Does the problem occur: Every Time, Every Game, Every account, and I only have one computer.

When does the problem NOT occur?: Never since it started.

Did the problem NOT occur in any earlier versions? If so, what was the last version that worked? Worked on the latest version aka 499.1191 Until yesterday, nothing changed on my laptop otherwise I'd likely know the solution.
Tested older version, same results, dreamseeker.exe encountered a problem...etc

Workarounds: Good question...</3>
Dang completely ignored...for three days...well whatever than...Thanks anyways. :3
only way i get questions answered is by asking experts on pager
Makes sense, either way I'm reformatting this laptop to linux so it should fix the problem. ^-^ I'm over windows xP...
Er...that won't fix anything.
BYOND does not run on Linux, the software avaliable for Linux is for hosting, and compiling.
Thats why Wine exists my friend.
Either way this isn't a discussion thread about my new OS it's a help thread about a problem I'm having, please don't clutter with idle chit chat.

Wine has a history of only working with BYOND sometimes.

You brought it up as a fix to your problem, I'm telling you it might not be a good solution. If you don't want something discussed in your topic, then don't bring up that topic.
Or you could try and help with the original problem instead of arguing a pointless point on my request for help thread....Self restraint is a virtue. Once again please don't clutter my request with idle chit chat.
There's no arguing. You're the one getting upset over the post. (OH NO! A REPLY TO MY OWN COMMENT?! HOW HORRID!) Maybe you should restrain yourself from getting angry over replies, and just not reply to things you don't think are relevant.

Anyways, can you provide a crash report from the Windows Event Viewer?
Angry?....errr kay anyways, no I can't I just broke my laptop hard drive unfortunately by accident, not physically, it just no longer starts so I'll have to find a way to get a new hard drive and with a new hard drive it'll likely fix the problem....SOOOO since the hard drive with the problem no longer works, PROBLEM SOLVED! :D

It's sad though I can't even fix the hard drives problem with the windows start up disk xD...wont even get to the start up disk before it says 'ahh ahh ahh, you didn't say the magic word'....xD either way thanks anyways Super Saiyan dude. even if the problem couldn't be solved. :<...

Shame though usually I think of the event viewer too but I just wasn't even focused on that for some reason...>_<..
