Hello all. We have a somewhat weird situation. Due to a string of DDoS attacks on our server we've been looking into ways to reduce or eliminate the attacks. We found a potential solution in the form of a DDoS protected proxy that you route your traffic through. However, after routing our users through it (~50 when we tried it) the Dream Daemon seemed to block all connections from that IP after about 15 minutes. The first time it happened it killed everyone's connection at the same time, however the game was still running and you could connect to the server directly (Just not through the proxy). Restarting the daemon allowed people to connect again through the proxy and directly. This worked fine for about an hour, when it again blocked the proxy and killed all the connections. I did notice this time that someone had lit off a medium-sized bomb in-game (This is a SS13 server) and people were dropped immediately after. Nothing appeared in the in-game ban log or the dream daemons. So my question is does anyone know if the Dream Daemon only allows a certain number of connections or traffic from a single IP?
EDIT: Forgot to mention the DDoS protected proxy is from XZ Networks. https://xznetworks.com/ I'm on Windows Server 2012 Standard.
