Well, it's not nearly as bad as it sounds. I somehow twisted my knee playing softball this afternoon (and also got whacked really hard by the ball on my ankle, which is now swollen and is probably going to look pretty ugly when the bruise comes in).
It hurt after the game, but I figured that I'd get over it. I ended up falling asleep for a few hours... then woke up to lightning bolts of pain shooting through my leg. After debating whether or not it was worth it, I was persuaded to visit the emergency room because there aren't any doctor's offices open at 10 pm. A few years ago I ended up needing surgery on my other knee due to torn cartilage, so I didn't want to play around this time.
My wonderful girlfriend Becca dropped everything that she was doing and drove me right over (she's the best!). Long story short, I apparently just have a badly strained ligament in my knee, and not a torn one. It sure as hell feels like it's torn, and I'm walking with a pretty major limp. At any rate, I feel like a real winner for having to visit the emergency room for it.
Now I'm having trouble getting to sleep because it HURTS. Ugh. Combined with the travesty that is my battered ankle on the same leg, I'm about ready to grab a bottle of vodka out of the cupboard and start chugging.
So that was my night.

Haha, don't worry. If anything, this is probably a good thing for AA because I'll be taking it easy for the next couple weeks!
|
Congratulations on graduating by the way Silk. Look forward to seeing your name in lights. ;)

I'm really concerned, Silk. Drinking vodka while programming could negatively affect AA's outcome! :(

It took me until I finished reading these comments till I realized you were talking about 'Acheron's Awakening' and not 'Alcoholics Anonymous'. I thought of that because of you talking about vodka.

Seriously though, I hope you get better soon. I don't know how long it would take to shake that sort of injury.
